Danish exam 1, 2 and 3

Copenhagen Language Center organises exams for Danish 1, 2 and 3 twice a year

Copenhagen Language Center offers the following final exams for the different Danish courses:

  • Danish Exam 1
  • Danish Exam 2
  • Danish Exam 3

You can take the Danish language exam after completing the last module of your Danish course and when you and your teacher think that you are ready.

The exam will correspond with the Danish course you have completed i.e. if you have attended Danish course 2, you must take the Danish language exam 2.

Danish exam 1, 2 and 3 are held twice a year - in May-June and November-December - and includes both reading and writing assignments. The 7-point grading scale is employed. There are no scheduled re-examinations.

Danish language exam 1

For the final exam for Danish course 1, you will have two hours and thirty minutes to complete the written Danish exam.

You will be expected to prepare a monologue for the oral Danish exam. After the monologue, you are expected to engage in a dialogue with your partner and the examiner.

Danish language exam 2

For the final exam for Danish course 2 you will have 3 hours to complete the written Danish exam.

You will be expected to prepare a monologue for the oral Danish exam for example about: Your job, your life in Denmark or another topic of your choice.

The monologue should last at least 1 minute and 30 seconds. After the monologue, you are expected to engage in a 15 minute dialogue with your partner and the examiner.

Danish language exam 3

For the final exam for Danish course 3 you will have 4 hours to complete the written Danish exam.

You will be expected to prepare a monologue for the oral Danish exam based on a topic of general knowledge chosen by your teacher or the school.

The monologue should last at least 2 minutes. After the monologue, you are expected to engage in a 15 minute dialogue with your partner and the examiner.

Danish exam 2:

Danish exam 3:

Written exam: May 16th 2017
Oral exam: During the period June 12th - 23rd 2016

Registration deadline: March 6th 2017

Autumn 2017

Danish exam 1:

Written exam: November 16th 2017
Oral exam: During the period December 4th to 15th 2017

Danish exam 2:

Written exam: November 15th 2017
Oral exam: During the period December 4th to 15th 2017

Danish exam 3:

Written exam: November 14th 2017
Oral exam: During the period December 4th to 15th 2017

Registration deadline: September 4th 2017

Dispensation to Danish language exam

Danish language exam with dispensation

If you have a disability you can apply for dispensation. Applications for assistive technologies and extended exam time must be submitted to Copenhagen Language Center at least four weeks before the exam, together with documentation of the disability from a doctor or other specialist.

This documentation must not be more than two years old.

Applications for permission to change the form and content of the exam must be submitted at least eight weeks before the exam.

Danish 1, 2 and 3 exam for independent students

You can sign up for the Danish 1, 2 and 3 exams as an independent student at our office in Valdemarsgade. The fee for independent students is DKK 1,309. We accept cash and creditcards.

When registering for the exam, you must provide valid photo identification, such as a residency card. EU/EEA citizens can provide a photo identification issued by a official authority in an EU/EEA country.
