The teaching is organized so that you get the best possible foundation for gradually expanding your Danish vocabulary and skills. You can expect to be able to quickly start using Danish in your everyday.
In Danish for beginners levels, we use textbooks as they are a good tool for covering the most basic grammar rules, so you can master present, past and future tenses, sentence structure, and more. The books are a trusty companion when you are new to the Danish language.
As with all of our courses, Danish for Beginners also focuses on developing your spoken Danish skills. You will learn to ask and answer common questions, and you’ll practice communicating simple information about yourself and your life. You’ll gain the cornerstones of Danish vocabulary, including:

Danish for intermediate learners
Expand your vocabulary and work on spoken Danish (B1)
You now have the basic Danish skills in place and you understand the linguistic foundation of Danish. Now it's about giving nuances to the way you express yourself and expanding your vocabulary to cover more complex topics. The primary focus of the intermediate courses is on training your conversational skills.
Our Danish courses at higher leves are built up around four themes. We have chosen this form because it is the interest that drives all learning. Therefore, it's essential that you are motivated to talk about a particular subject and can involve your own opinions and thoughts during your Danish classes .
The intermediate Danish courses are offered with four different main themes:
- Local & Global
- Communities & Societies
- Work & Life
- Identities & Lifestyles
You can choose freely between these themes, enabling you to learn Danish as you explore and discuss topics that interest you. Based on the learning goals, your teacher will continuously adapt the level of difficulty to ensure you that you remain challenged and continue improving your Danish.
We recommend that you complete three of the four themes before proceeding to the next level of courses.
