Turbocharge your Danish skills!

Our Intensive Danish Course is six-week Danish course – with fast progression. You will see major advances in your Danish skills day by day. The course gives you:

  • A good understanding of basic Danish (A1 or A2 level)
  • Danish for everyday use – we adapt the teaching to your needs.
  • Knowledge about Denmark and the Danes

Intensive Danish for beginners or intermediate learners is for you, if you want to start using Danish as quickly as possible. We help you take the first steps towards learning Danish, with an emphasis on spoken Danish and the importance of pronunciation. Instruction is provided according to a fixed learning and teaching programme, and you must be prepared for several hours of homework every week.

Instruction in Danish language and culture

We have plenty of time in the classroom, but you will still learn a lot in a very short time. We practice all aspects of the language, with a special emphasis on pronunciation and spoken Danish. You will have the opportunity to speak, and the opportunity to listen. Your teacher will support and help you to quickly build your vocabulary, improve your comprehension and begin actively speaking Danish.

  • We utilize a wide range of materials and teaching methods, including:
  • Project work – individually and in teams/groups.
  • Presentations by you and your classmates.
  • Music, singing, films and videos.

Every one of our Danish teachers has many years of experience, so your teacher will be familiar with all of the challenges in your process of learning Danish as a second language. We are fully dedicated to supporting your efforts to develop your language skills. As you progress through the course, you will receive ongoing feedback from your teacher and good advice on how you can overcome the specific challenges you face.

A clear curriculum and individually-adapted teaching methods

When you learn Danish for beginners in an Intensive Danish Course, you’ll get thorough and individually tailored instruction focusing on the key language skills: listening, speaking, writing and comprehension. We emphasize speaking and pronunciation so that you can quickly start speaking Danish – which we know is the key to getting off to a good start with life in Denmark.

With this course, you get:

  • A large number of lessons, which means plenty of time with your teacher.
  • Instruction adapted to the needs and wishes of you and your classmates.
  • Guidance and feedback on your individual learning process.

We build your language skills to a level corresponding to A1 in CEFR. In other words, we have a defined framework of learning goals – even as we adapt topics and teaching methods to your individual needs. This approach ensures that your learning is both relevant and useful. After the course, you’ll receive an A1 level certificate of completion.

Our learning goals are visible, enabling you to track the goals of the instruction and the results you can expect. Your teacher can give you feedback at any time about your progress in relation to these learning goals.

Self-study when you have the time

Our intensive Danish Course is designed to maximize personal guidance through classroom instruction. The the majority of teaching takes place in the classroom, where your teacher provides feedback and support to ensure a productive and enjoyable learning experience! You must, however, be prepared for several hours of weekly homework and independent studies.

You will join a class of students whose Danish skills match your own – and who are all prepared for an intensive course.

If you want to speed up your progress even more, you’ll have access to our online universe of exercises and materials for flexible self-study whenever it suits your schedule. In our online universe, you’ll find:

  • Self-correcting exercises and quizzes.
  • Reading and listening assignments.
  • An overview of themes covered and the plan for upcoming classes.
  • A forum for discussion with other course participants.

This online portal enables you to adjust the intensity of your studies. When you have extra time on your hands and the motivation to learn, you can always find extra materials for practicing and improving your Danish.

We also recommend that you do everything in your power to use Danish in your everyday life! You will learn much faster if you put the language to use in the real world.

Intensive Danish Course enrollment requirements

To enroll in our intensive Danish course, you must meet a number of requirements. You must have at least 12 years of schooling and a good command of English. We also expect that you:

  • Are motivated and can dedicate the time required for this demanding course.
  • Attend classes regularly and actively participate in the classroom.
  • If you do these things, you are certain to learn Danish in record time!

If you have a busy everyday life with your job and/or family, we recommend that you choose one of our less intensive courses instead. For example, consider Danish Course Standard, where you’ll spend less time in the classroom but have considerably more homework and self-study.

You can also choose an Intensive Online Danish if you need greater flexibility, or a Saturday Danish Course if you have more time on the weekends.
