How to explain your symptoms in Danish?
- Jeg har feber - I have a temperature
- Jeg er svimmel - I feel dizzy
- Jeg har det dårligt - I feel unwell
- Jeg har kvalme og kaster op - I feel nauseous and am vomiting
- Jeg har dårlig mave - I have diarrhoea
- Jeg er forkølet og hoster - I have a cold and a cough
- Jeg er træt hele tiden - I am tired all the time.

Tell the doctor what s/he needs to know
When at the doctor's office, you better remember to tell the doctor about all your ailments, and all your concerns.
Learn the basics for communicating medical needs in Danish:
- Jeg har et udslæt – I have a rash.
- Jeg tager denne type medicin – I take the following medicine(s) ... ".
- Jeg skal bruge en ny recept til denne medicin " x"– I need a new prescription for this " x" medicine.
- Jeg har brug for medicin for migræne / ørepine / allergi – I need medicine for a migraine/earache/allergies.
And let the doctor know that:
- Jeg er allergisk over for pencillin - I'm allergic to penicillin.
- Jeg er gravid - I'm pregnant.
- Jeg har tabt mig / taget på - I have lost / gained weight.
- Jeg har spist denne mad / taget denne medicin tidligere - I ate this food/ took this medicine earlier.
- Jeg har tidligere haft xxx – I have previously had xxx
- Jeg har for højt blodtryk – I have high blood pressure.

- Jeg har fået et blåt øje - I have a black eye
- Min ankel / fod er hævet - My ankle / foot is swollen
- Mit håndled er hævet - My wrist is swollen
- Jeg har brækket mit ben - I have broken my leg
- Jeg har brændt mig - I have burnt myself
- Jeg har skåret mig i fingeren - I have cut my finger
- Jeg har forstuvet hånden - I have sprained my hand
- Jeg bløder - I'm bleeding
